Job summary

Stantec seeks a Civil Project Manager for its New Haven or Hartford, CT office to lead transportation infrastructure projects. The role requires 8+ years of engineering experience, strong project management, and collaboration with clients and teams.

You will oversee project delivery, budgets, scheduling, and technical leadership while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with regulators and stakeholders. The position emphasizes growth through client exposure and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred; CT licensure or ability to obtain CT licensure.
• CTDOT experience would be a plus; 8+ years of engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage multiple projects serving as the Civil Project Manager, Technical Lead, and Engineer of Record for highway infrastructure projects.
• Plan, organize, and manage production of project deliverables to ensure on-time delivery, technical quality, and within budget.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and external consultants, owner and contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• Serve as the project’s point of contact with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
• Review the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
• Provide direct supervision to assigned staff; develop staff skills by mentoring to strengthen technical abilities.
• Mentor developing professionals to guide their career development objectives.
• Review team’s work and provide technical guidance on design approaches and challenges.
• Lead development of technical approaches for Statements of Qualifications and technical aspects for project interviews.
