PennDOT Fayette County Maintenance office is looking for a Roadway Programs Technician 1 to join their team. In this vital role, you will perform technical duties assisting in the review, analysis, and inspection of posted roadways utilized in unconventional oil and gas development and the repair work of contractors as a result of this development. This is technical work in Roadway Programs Management, under the direction of the Roadway Programs Coordinator. You will perform weekly field viewing and inspection of county roadways for the purpose of assisting with the inspection of posted roadways and the work of contractors making repairs as a result of unconventional oil and gas development and others meeting the department’s definition of a heavy user. This includes assisting with the documentation, including notes, photos, and video of roadway conditions completed through weekly inspections known as road condition surveys (RCS). Additionally, you will perform inspections of highways within an assigned geographical area to determine maintenance needs of guide rail, median barrier, impact attenuator, tree cutting, litter pick up, torts, reimbursable, vandalism, stolen property, fatal accident, and pre- and post-inspections of guide rail, median barrier, impact attenuator, and tree cutting sites.
