Job summary

W-L Construction and Paving, a CRH company, in Chilhowie, VA, is seeking a Laborer to support roadway construction duties including shoveling, sweeping, raking, and material handling. This role requires physical work in varying weather and a teamwork-focused mindset.

Starting pay is $19.50 per hour. You will partner with the crew, use handheld tools, and help meet daily schedules. Flagger Certification will be obtained during new hire orientation. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must partner with crew members per plan specifications.
• Ability to shovel, sweep, rake, and handle materials safely.
• Commitment to attendance and teamwork on site.

Responsibilities

• Perform shoveling, sweeping and raking of asphalt, stone and dirt.
• Assist crew and follow foreman directions to meet schedules.
• Operate/assist with handheld tools and manage traffic flow as needed.
• Possess/obtain Flagger Certification during orientation.
