Job summary

CRH plc's APAC Central Inc. unit seeks a Skilled Laborer to join the Asphalt and Concrete team. This role supports diverse construction and paving projects, with duties ranging from shoveling and material handling to assisting with traffic control and equipment operation.

Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and adaptability to project needs. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, prior construction experience, and are able to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Understanding of construction and paving materials, methods, and tools.
• Basic literacy and numerical skills.
• Capacity to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in the safe and correct use of construction equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by following safety policies and using appropriate tools.
• Follow OSHA/MSHA safety standards and report concerns to leadership.
• Support the crew with shoveling, raking, transporting materials, and assisting with truck operations.
• Coordinate with equipment operators to align and move materials.
• Carry out foreman-directed assignments to meet project expectations.
• Operate small power tools such as jack hammers when needed.
• Excavate, distribute, and level construction materials as required.
• Lift, carry, and secure materials and tools throughout the day.
• Assist in setting up, relocating, and removing traffic control devices.
• Demonstrate reliability through regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project delivery.
