Job summary

APAC Atlantic, Inc. in Asheville, NC is seeking a Skilled Equipment Operator for construction sites across Western North Carolina. The role focuses on operating paving equipment and supporting groundwork activities and maintenance of equipment.

The ideal candidate will have road construction experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a team. CDL Class A license and hazmat endorsement are preferred, with willingness to travel and work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience and/or training in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of road construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of paving equipment and maintain equipment condition.
• Coordinate truck dumping and maintain a steady flow of asphalt or material.
• Report malfunctions and perform minor servicing as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines, PPE usage, and site protocols.
