Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking a Roadway Programs Technician 1 to support data review, inventory control, and storeroom operations for roadway projects across Erie County.

You will analyze inventory data, manage stock levels, and coordinate purchasing and shipment activities to ensure materials are available and records remain accurate. The role emphasizes accurate reporting and efficient procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant or equivalent Commonwealth/Federal government title.
  • One year of experience in analysis of data used in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment.
  • An Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or related program.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met educational requirements within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

  • Data Review: Analyze inventory and usage reports to support maintenance planning and compliance.
  • Storeroom Management: Receive, store, and distribute supplies while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Purchasing Support: Prepare purchase requests, code purchasing card transactions, resolve order issues.
  • Material Tracking: Maintain stock levels, issue materials through SAP, update reorder points as needed.
  • Inventory Oversight: Perform physical inventory checks, reconcile discrepancies, assist with transfers or disposal of unused items.
  • Shipment Coordination: Log, inspect, and process incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
