Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in the analysis, development and implementation of methods and techniques in a roadway maintenance management system; Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or in a civil engineering related discipline
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement and be able to perform essential job functions
  • You must pass a background investigation

Responsibilities

  • Work Plan Oversight: Review annual work plan progress, analyze reports, and recommend adjustments to meet changing priorities
  • Budget Management: Monitor funding levels, prepare budget reviews, and guide decisions on shifting resources as needed
  • Staff Supervision: Direct the work of assigned staff, evaluate performance, approve leave, and resolve workplace issues
  • Material Coordination: Estimate and order needed materials to keep operations running without interruption
  • Inventory Control: Oversee storage, tracking, and issuing of materials while ensuring proper documentation and compliance
  • Program Administration: Manage contracts, reimbursable programs, environmental responsibilities, and public service initiatives

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or civil engineering related discipline
Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or related program
Two years of experience in roadway maintenance management system analysis/development/implementation
One year of experience as Roadway Programs Technician 2 or equivalent
Any equivalent combination of experience and training

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The position ensures that work plans, inventory systems, and staff activities align with departmental goals. As a Roadway Programs Technician Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as a Roadway Programs Technician 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in the analysis, development and implementation of methods and techniques in a roadway maintenance management system and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or in a civil engineering related discipline; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
