Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Fort Worth is seeking qualified Transportation Maintenance Tech III or IV to support roadway maintenance, traffic control, and emergency response. You will operate light/heavy equipment, inspect materials, and assist the public and law enforcement in accident scenes.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience for Transportation Maintenance Tech III; 3 years for Tech IV; substitutions allowed for related training or education.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL and related endorsements may be required.
• Commercial Driver Certificate; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) requirements specified.

Responsibilities

• Inspect traffic control devices and their placement for compliance with standards.
• Serve as work crew lead ensuring work meets project specifications.
• Train other employees and provide guidance on maintenance tasks.
• Support law enforcement at accident sites and assist motorists.
• Process maintenance contract inspection data to build work orders and fund payments.
• Maintain highways, bridges, and related structures; perform roadside maintenance and emergency response.
