Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Worker III in the Forsyth County Maintenance Unit. This role involves a wide range of maintenance tasks for state roads, including setting up work zones, repairing pavements, and operating various heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Intermediate Work Zone Safety and NCDOT Workplace Safety policy.

Responsibilities

• Set up work zones and traffic controls.
• Repair asphalt pavements and patching.
• Operate and maintain state roads equipment (asphalt maintainer, patch truck, etc.).
• Respond to emergencies including snow/ice removal and traffic control cleanup.
• Monitor inmate and transportation worker tasks and safety compliance.
