North Carolina Department of Transportation (Division 12) is seeking a Transportation Worker I to support road maintenance, equipment operation, and safety program activities across multiple counties. The role requires operating a range of tools and vehicles, adhering to safety standards, and working in varied weather conditions.

The position includes CDL eligibility within 360 days of hire, pre-employment drug testing, and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess or obtain North Carolina CDL within 360 days of hire.
• Pre-employment drug testing is required for this position.
• Background check and drug/testing forms ALCDRG-01/ALCDRG-06 must be signed as part of the hiring process.

Responsabilités

• Operate hand tools and power equipment for road maintenance and repair.
• Ensure work zones are safe and traffic is properly managed.
• Assist with snow and ice removal, flagging, and sign installation as needed.
