Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 9, Ross County, Chillicothe, seeks workers for hands-on highway maintenance, snow and ice control, and operation of basic equipment across seasonal roadwork.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License at the appropriate level.
• 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment.
• Ability to read, write and speak common English vocabulary.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on maintenance of traffic and flagging.
• Highway maintenance and repair work activities (potholes, berms, guardrails, crack seal, litter pick-up, drainage, mowing).
• Operation of heavy equipment (dump truck, loader) and hand tools (chainsaw).
• Perform snow and ice operations.
