Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in Cotulla, TX, seeks Transportation Maintenance Tech I, II, or III. The role performs roadway maintenance, operates light and heavy equipment, and supports emergency response to incidents on state roadways.

Technicians may progress from Tech I to Tech II or Tech III with increasing responsibilities; excellent benefits, retirement plans, and on‑the‑job training are provided. Work is day shift, onsite, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• TMT I: No experience required.
• TMT II: 1 year experience in transportation maintenance or related work.
• TMT III: 2 years experience.
• Licenses: Valid US driver's license; must drive a state vehicle.
• CDL with 'N' endorsement required within 120 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance and repair; operate light and heavy equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment; complete reports.
• Provide support during emergencies; assist with traffic control.
• Assist with signs, delineators, and road features; participate in training other staff.
