The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a maintenance worker for Richland Maintenance to perform vegetation management using a brush chipper and powered hand tools on SCDOT right-of-way. You will operate a dump truck hauling tools to and from job sites and help set up maintenance work zones with traffic control devices.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL Class A must be obtained within 6 months of placement.

Responsabilités

• Uses brush chipper and powered hand tools for vegetation management on SCDOT right-of-way.
• Operates dump truck hauling tools to and from job site.
• Assists with placement of traffic control devices to set up maintenance work zones.
• Serves as a flagger to direct and control traffic in maintenance work zones.
• Works with inmates on mowing, litter removal, dead animal removal and right-of-way clearing.
• Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations; may require extended hours or 12-hour shifts.
