Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a maintenance worker to perform roadway and right-of-way tasks. You will operate small equipment and a dump truck, flag traffic, and conduct pre-trip inspections as part of daily duties.

There are no minimum training requirements, but a valid license is required and a Class A CDL must be obtained within six months. Lifting up to 50 lbs and on-call emergency work are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor during roadway and right-of-way maintenance.
• Operate small equipment and standard dump truck for hauling.
• Flag traffic during maintenance activities.
• Conduct and document pre-trip equipment/vehicle inspections.
• Work in snow/ice and other inclement weather, on-call emergencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
