Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a maintenance worker to operate small equipment (dump truck, roller ≤4 tons, sweeper) and perform vegetation management with powered hand tools. You will assist with traffic control setup and act as a flagger in maintenance zones.

The role requires a valid operator's license; a Class A CDL must be obtained within 6 months. The position may require extended hours or 12-hour shifts, and physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs and walking

Responsibilities

• Operate small equipment such as a dump truck, roller (≤4 tons) and a sweeper.

• Assist with placement of traffic control devices and act as a flagger in maintenance zones.
• Picks up litter, debris, and dead animals; assist in emergencies and inclement weather operations.
