Job summary

MoDOT is seeking candidates for a California Maintenance Facility position to support state highway preservation and operation. The role includes a range of maintenance tasks, vehicle operation, and potential night or overtime duties, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must pass CDL written test prior to hire.
• Must pass medical-physical exam, drug test, and background check.
• CDL tanker endorsement and interstate status must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains state highway systems, including filling joints and cracks, patching potholes, flagging and directing traffic, and setting up signs and traffic control devices.
• Maintains and repairs state highway facilities, including signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, and equipment servicing.
• Operates vehicles to transport employees, equipment, and materials, and to plow snow or spread ice control materials.
• May repair bridge decks and drains, and work at heights using ladders/scaffolding.
• May install signs and inspect/sign posts, pour footings, weld and maintain signs.
