Job summary

MoDOT is seeking maintenance workers to perform routine tasks maintaining Missouri's roadways and facilities. The role operates under direct supervision with opportunities for CAREER-LADDER progression based on skill and experience.

Position requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license with CDL tanker endorsement, and successful completion of a driving test and medical-physical exam. Interviews are rolling until filled.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
• Valid driver's license with CDL tanker endorsement; no air brake restrictions.
• Pass CDL written and driving tests within 60 days of hire.
• Complete work simulation and medical-physical examinations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain state highway systems: fill joints, patch potholes, direct traffic and set up signs and signals.
• Repair highway facilities: signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, and equipment servicing.
• Operate vehicles to transport personnel and equipment, plow snow and spread ice control materials.
• Perform landscaping tasks: mow right of way and operate various heavy equipment.
• May repair bridges and install signs; inspect and maintain sign posts.
