Responsibilities

• Maintains state highway systems, including filling joints, patching potholes, signaling and directing traffic, setting up signs and cones, loading and hauling materials, clearing brush, removing trash from roadsides, cleaning ditches.
• Maintains highway facilities: repairing road signs and guardrails, cleaning curbs and gutters, painting buildings, servicing equipment.
• Operates vehicles to transport people/equipment, plow snow, spread ice control materials; uses various trucks and machinery.
• May repair bridges/decks and drains; may install signs and pour footings; weld and maintain sign posts.
