Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain state highway systems, including filling joints, patching potholes, flagging, directing traffic, and setting up signs and traffic control devices.
• Maintain and repair state highway facilities, signs, guardrails, curbs, gutters, buildings, equipment, and machinery.
• Operate vehicles to transport personnel and materials, plow snow, and spread ice control materials; use tractors, mowers, backhoes, forklifts, and trucks.
• May repair bridge decks, drains, and sign posts; work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
• Install signs and inspect structural signs, pour concrete footings, weld posts, and maintain signs.
