Texas Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Maintenance Tech I/II/III in the Vega Maintenance Office, Amarillo District. This role blends hands-on roadway maintenance with operation of light and heavy highway equipment, sign and guard rail work, and traffic control to keep communities moving safely.

Applicants should be prepared for outdoor work, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to train others as you gain experience. CDL-A is preferred; state benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Education: None.
• Experience levels for TMT I–III.
• Related technical training may substitute for experience.
• Commercial driver's license endorsements may be required.

Responsabilités

• Assists in identifying, repairing and installing signs, delineators, mailbox supports and posts; performs basic welding as needed.
• Assists with traffic control; places and gathers cones, warning signs and barricades: flags traffic.
• Maintains highways and rights-of-way; performs roadway repairs; erects and repairs guard rails, highway markers and signs; hauls materials and equipment to job sites.
• Maintains picnic and rest areas, rights-of-way, maintenance yards and comfort stations.
• Operates light equipment such as a front-end loader and other listed machinery.
