Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Brownwood, TX is seeking Transportation Maintenance Tech I, II, or III to support Brown Co Maintenance. Responsibilities include roadway maintenance, equipment operation, traffic control, and emergency assistance. Training opportunities, lodging and per-diem may be provided.

Starting salary ranges from $50,000 to $71,055 annually with standard benefits. Position offers daytime hours, onsite work, and requirement to obtain CDL Class A with N endorsement

Qualifications

• TMT I = No experience required
• TMT II = 1 year experience in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, or related work
• TMT III = 2 years experience in transportation maintenance or related work
• CDL Class A with N endorsement required within 180 days from date of employment
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and facilities.
• Operate light and heavy equipment as required for the role.
• Assist with traffic control and aid the public during emergencies.
• Maintain highways, rights-of-way, and related infrastructure; conduct PMI inspections and required reports.
