Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Tech I or II in Albany, TX to perform roadway maintenance, sign installation, traffic control, and related duties. The role covers operation of light and some heavy equipment, safety protocols, and responding to emergencies as needed.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for Tech I or II, hold a valid driver's license or CDL as required, and be willing to work day shifts with potential travel to nearby sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation maintenance or related work preferred.
• Ability to operate light to heavy highway equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and traffic control devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and repairing signs, delineators, and posts.
• Perform roadway maintenance, litter pickup, and landscape upkeep.
• Operate light and, where trained, heavier equipment.
• Assist with traffic control and safety at accident sites or incidents.
• Follow procedures and complete required reports.
