Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation seeks Transportation Maintenance Tech I–III to perform routine roadway maintenance, sign installation, and ensure safety standards. The role covers light to heavy equipment operation, PMI, and collaboration with local agencies.

Qualifications

• No education is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application.
• Commercial Class A CDL with an N endorsement or obtain CDL A within 90 days from employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine roadway maintenance, repair, and minor equipment maintenance.
• Assist with traffic control, signage installation and barricade placement.
• Support inspections of maintenance methods and workmanship for compliance with plans and specs.
• Operate light to heavy equipment as specified for Tech I–III levels.
• Assist in emergency response and public assistance as needed.
