Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a road maintenance worker to perform manual labor across right-of-way clearing, drainage ditch cleaning, pothole patching, and base repairs, using tractors, mowers, and other equipment.

You will flag traffic, operate dump trucks, and assist in emergency operations, with CDL required within six months and willingness to work outside normal hours in inclement weather.

Qualifications

• Performs manual labor and maintenance duties on roadways.
• Flag traffic during road repairs to protect workers and the motoring public.
• Operates/maintains small equipment and trucks used in road maintenance.
• Requires a valid CDL within six (6) months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Clear right-of-ways and clean drainage ditches.
• Repair shoulders, patch potholes, and perform base repairs.
• Pave driveways and lay sideline/cross line pipe as needed.
• Assist in emergencies and inclement weather operations, including after-hours work.
