Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation's Wichita Falls District seeks Transportation Maintenance Tech I or II to perform roadway maintenance, repairs, and traffic control. Training for CDL Class A with N endorsement is provided with no upfront cost, including lodging and per-diem as needed.

Positions require physical readiness and the ability to work outdoors, with a schedule of Monday–Friday 7:00–3:30 and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• TMT I: no prior experience required.
• TMT II: 1 year of related transportation/maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required at time of application.
• CDL Class A with N endorsement must be obtained within 180 days of employment.
• Pre-employment physical and drug test are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Assist in installing and maintaining signs, delineators, and posts.
• Provide traffic control and assist with incidents or emergencies.
• Operate light and heavy equipment as trained.
• Maintain records, timekeeping, and maintenance reports.
• Support project inspections and safety compliance.
