Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Crew Leader for the Joplin Maintenance Facility at 2915 S. Doughboy Drive, Joplin, MO 64804.

You will supervise crews performing highway maintenance, oversee equipment operation, and ensure safety and efficiency on project tasks in a dynamic field environment. Responsibilities include setting up work zones, mowing, patching, grading, snow removal, and reporting on material usage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, no air brake restrictions, interstate status (EI or NI).
• Five years of roadway/bridge/roadside maintenance experience.
• Successful completion of a work simulation and medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Leads maintenance crews during operations, sets up work zones, and oversees quality of roadwork.
• Operates highway maintenance equipment such as tractors, dozers, loaders, trucks, graders and snowplows.
• Oversees material usage, submits reports, and maintains employee records.
• Oversees routine maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Inspects bridges and roadways to determine maintenance needs and progress.
