Job summary

State of Missouri, Ballas Maintenance Facility in St. Louis, MO, seeks a maintenance crew leader to supervise a crew performing highway maintenance tasks, set up work zones, and ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining signs, patching and road surface work, and monitoring material use. Requires CDL, five years of related experience, and ability to pass assessments. Internal applicants salary note.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, interstate status, no air brake restrictions.
• Five years of roadway/bridge or related maintenance experience.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Leads crews during maintenance operations, sets up work zones, and performs maintenance tasks.
• Operates highway maintenance equipment (tractors, dozers, loaders, trucks, graders, snowplows).
• Manages field material usage and may submit supply/inventory reports.
• Oversees routine maintenance of equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Inspects bridges and roadways to determine maintenance needs and progress.
