Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation in Joplin, MO, is hiring a Maintenance Worker to support the light fleet. You will work directly with the Equipment Technician, maintaining equipment, performing inspections, and supporting winter operations as needed.

The role is entry- to senior-level based on your skills and experience, with opportunities for advancement within MoDOT’s CAREER-LADDER framework. A valid CDL and field experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• CDL exam written portion pass and tanker endorsement, class B, interstate status within 60 days.
• Complete work simulation and medical-physical examinations.

Responsibilities

• Charge out petroleum products from bulk oil to fleet.
• Order and charge out batteries and consignment parts.
• Perform PMAs on the light fleet across multiple locations.
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing long-term light fleet issues.
• Support inspections of light fleet at multiple depots.
• Travel to field sites to assist Field Technicians during operations.
• Deliver engine oil filters and update maintenance in Asset Works.
