Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation's San Angelo District is seeking a Maintenance Section Supervisor I for Rocksprings and Leakey offices. You will lead roadway maintenance operations for Edwards County or Real County, plan and supervise crews, manage equipment and budgets, and coordinate emergency responses with safety as a priority.

You will oversee administrative matters, liaise with the public and officials, and develop your team for long-term growth while ensuring adherence to safety

Qualifications

• 7 years roadway maintenance or construction-related experience.
• Experience supervising technical and clerical employees.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and coordinate with governmental officials.

Responsibilities

• Administers and inspects contracted maintenance activities.
• Handles public complaints.
• Inspects road conditions, work-in-progress and completed work by crews/contractors.
• Plans, coordinates and implements emergency response to inclement weather, accidents and hazmat spills.
• Plans, schedules and coordinates work needs with Area Engineer and district staff on a regular basis.
• Prepares and monitors the budget.
• Prioritizes and assigns projects to maintenance staff; ensures safety guidelines.
