Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Maintenance Section Assistant in Snyder, TX. You will assist a supervisor, oversee crews and contractors, and help maintain safe roadways in a defined area while coordinating daily maintenance tasks.

The role requires 6 years of roadway maintenance or related work, a valid CDL-A with N endorsement, and a pre-employment physical and drug testing. Onsite work with potential for weather-related emergencies.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in roadway maintenance or construction work.
• Valid Commercial Class A Driver License (CDL) with N endorsement.
• Pre-employment physical required.
• Ability to operate light and heavy roadway equipment.
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist a Maintenance Section Supervisor in overseeing crews and contractors to keep roadways safe.
• Schedule equipment, materials and personnel for section projects.
• Assist with planning, coordinating emergency responses to weather, accidents and spills.
• Maintain records on materials, supplies and personnel.
• Lead daily work assignments and serve as a resource for questions.
