Texas Department of Transportation in Muleshoe, TX seeks a Maintenance Section Assistant to support daily maintenance activities, lead crews, and ensure safe, reliable roadways across Bailey County. This on-site role offers hands-on work and opportunities to impact community infrastructure.

Responsibilities include assisting the section supervisor, budgeting support, permits, records, and equipment operation; requires a HS diploma and 6 years in roadway maintenance, with a nonexempt, full-time

Competenze

• High School Grad or Equivalent.
• 6 years of roadway maintenance or construction experience.
• Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications may be made with related college education or training.

Mansioni

• Assist a Maintenance Section Supervisor in overseeing crews and contractors to keep a safe driving thoroughfare in Bailey County.
• Lead daily work assignments and provide updates to the supervisor; support team members' development.
• May operate light and heavy roadway equipment as needed to maintain roadways.
• Assist in budgeting for the maintenance section and in estimating driveway size for drainage work.
• Complete reports on damaged railings and bridges and maintain records of materials and personnel.
• Respond to emergencies as needed and ensure operational coverage during supervisor absences.
