Job summary

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Chickasaw Turnpike in Sulphur, Oklahoma. This full-time role runs approximately 7:30am to 4:00pm and involves operating trucks, graders, dozers and other maintenance equipment while performing basic repairs and traffic control.

Level I pay starts at $20.50/hour ($42,630/year); Level II at $23.78/hour ($49,455/year). Candidates must have one year of experience for Level II and a valid Class A CDL, with the ability to

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating heavy equipment for Level II; preferably in road construction/maintenance.
• Must possess or obtain a Class A CDL within five months from appointment date.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery such as trucks, graders, dozers and loaders as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair shoulders or bridge decks as required.
• Replace signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
• Provide traffic control using stop/slow signs or flags.
• Apply herbicide to highway rights-of-way and remove debris.
