The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator I/II for the Kickapoo Turnpike in Newalla, Oklahoma. The role involves operating power equipment and supporting highway maintenance and repairs during regular hours, with responsibilities ranging from machine operation to traffic control and light repairs.

Qualifications

• Level II requires 1 year of heavy equipment experience and a Class A CDL.
• Level I requires no formal education or prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment or heavy machinery such as trucks, tractors, road graders, dozers, front-end loaders, cranes, backhoes, paint machines, semi-trailers, snow removal equipment and other equipment as needed.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair roadway shoulders or bridge decks.
• Repair and/or replace signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
• Provide traffic control assistance using a stop/slow sign or flag.
• Apply herbicide to highway rights-of-way to control vegetation.
• Remove debris including tires and other obstacles.
