Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a Crew Foreman to supervise a crew of Highway Maintenance Workers performing pothole patching, right-of-way clearance, drainage work, and driveway installations on the Orangeburg Maintenance team.

The role involves managing reports, time sheets, and cost records, coordinating on-call responses during hazardous weather, and ensuring HMMS documentation while addressing public drainage inquiries.

Qualifications

• 3.5 years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• CDL Class A license required within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crew of Highway Maintenance Workers on the Work Request Crew.
• Oversee maintenance activities including pothole patching, right-of-way clearing, drainage maintenance and driveway installations.
• Maintain weekly and monthly reports, time sheets and cost records; manage personnel actions.
• Coordinate on-call responses during hazardous weather events.
• Maintain HMMS paperwork and reports and interact with the public regarding drainage needs.
