Job summary

Virginia AG is seeking workers for roadway maintenance, emergency operations, and equipment handling. You will operate light to heavy highway equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and assist in snow removal and traffic control.

A valid CDL and DOT medical card are required within 11 months of employment and ongoing compliance with DOT/VDOT rules. Ideal candidates have strong safety awareness, the ability to read plans, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures.
• Knowledge of work zone safety, traffic controls and MUTCD rules.
• Experience in emergency operations including snow removal and accident clean-up.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Operations: Operate and maintain light, medium, and heavy highway equipment.
• Emergency Operations: Perform snow/ice removal and clear roadways; provide traffic control.
• Equipment Operations: Maintain and operate highway equipment and vehicles for maintenance tasks.
• Job Safety: Follow safety rules, wear PPE, and apply MUTCD in detours and work zones.
• Manual Labor: Participate as a crew member to complete projects and perform maintenance tasks.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform PM, inspections and minor repairs.
