Job summary

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Must obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment.
• Capable of heavy manual labor as part of daily tasks.
• Read and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures.
• Safety shoes and PPE required on job sites.
• Skilled in handling hand and power tools and operating light/medium/heavy equipment.
• Familiar with work zones, MUTCD guidelines, and traffic control practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate light to heavy highway equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
• Prepare and operate equipment for snow/ice removal and other emergencies.
• Install, maintain and remove traffic control devices for work zones per MUTCD.
• Ensure work site safety and proper PPE usage; maintain neat, safe environments.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
