Qualifications

• Able to perform heavy manual labor.
• Able to read and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures.
• Skill in the operation and maintenance of hand-held and power tools.
• Experience with roadway maintenance or construction is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Operations: Operate and maintain light, medium, and heavy-duty highway equipment to perform maintenance and construction activities.
• Emergency Operations: Prepare and operate equipment for snow and ice removal or other emergency operations.
• Job Safety: Demonstrate safe work practices and follow regulations (OSHA, VOSHA).
• Manual Labor: Participate as a working crew member to complete projects and perform maintenance tasks.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform repairs, replacements, and pre-trip inspections of equipment.
