Virginia AG is seeking a hands-on Highway Maintenance Technician to perform equipment operations, preventive maintenance and manual labor for roadway upkeep. The role requires handling light to heavy equipment and participation in emergency operations, including snow removal and traffic control.

You will follow MUTCD guidelines and safety rules (OSHA/VOSHA) while maintaining a safe work environment and accurate records. CDL must be obtained within 11 months of employment and kept current.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months of employment and maintain thereafter.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Operate and maintain light, medium and heavy highway equipment and vehicles for maintenance and construction tasks.
• Perform snow and ice removal and debris cleanup; provide traffic control.
• Follow MUTCD for detours, lane closures and work zones; apply safety rules.
• Maintain safety through PPE and adherence to OSHA/VOSHA standards.
• Assist in inventory tracking and maintenance records.
