Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Lexington Maintenance crew leader to coordinate construction and maintenance activities, manage time sheets, daily work reports, and work requests, and ensure safety on site.

Responsibilities include inspecting and installing signs and traffic markings, leading traffic control for lane closures and detours, and laying out chevrons, railroad crossings, crosswalks and stop bars as per SCDOT standards. CDL required within six months.

Qualifications

• Two years of related work experience or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• Requires a valid motor vehicle operator's license on entry and must attain a Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction and maintenance activities; manage time sheets and daily work reports.
• Inspect and install signs and traffic markings per SCDOT standards; lead crew in traffic control for lane closures and detours.
• Lay out and install turn lane chevrons, railroad crossings, crosswalks and stop bars per standards.
• Perform job hazard analysis for large jobs; operate equipment as directed during emergencies and hazardous weather.
