Job summary

Qualifications

• 3.5 years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of placement in the position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a crew of Highway Maintenance Workers on the Work Request Crew.
• Oversee maintenance tasks such as patching potholes, clearing right of way, cleaning ditches and drainage pipes, and installing driveways.
• Keeps weekly/monthly reports, time sheets and cost records; recommends personnel actions including promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures.
• Performs on-call services as needed and coordinates crew during hazardous weather events including snow, ice, and storms.
• Maintains all paperwork and reports (HMMS) essential to the department.
