Job summary

Caton Construction Group in Cornelius, NC is seeking a Grade Foreman to lead a grading crew on a roadway construction project. You will organize field work, plan schedules, and supervise crew performance.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; proven experience as a construction foreman; a diploma in a skilled trade is a plus. Travel/local overnight stays may be required; typical hours Mon-Fri 7:00-3:30.

Qualifications

Proven experience as construction foreman.
Diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) a plus.

Responsibilities

Coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans.
Plan, organize and lead grading crew.
Producing schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
Allocating general and daily responsibilities.
Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
Schedule aggregate material quantities and deliveries. Determine trucking needs and schedule truck.
Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
Supervise and train workers and tradespeople.
Ensure labor and other resources are adequate.
Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget.
Resolve problems when they arise.
Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
