Douglas County (WI) seeks a Working Foreman to supervise crews in the construction, repair and maintenance of county roadways. You will lead equipment operators and laborers, coordinate resources, and ensure safety and efficiency in daily operations.

The role requires a Wisconsin CDL with appropriate class/endorsement and at least two years of equipment operation experience. You may be called for winter on-call rotations and must follow all applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience performing equipment operator tasks.
• Must possess/maintain Wisconsin CDL license with appropriate class and endorsement or obtain CDL within 30 days.
• Must obtain and maintain such certificates and/or licenses as deemed necessary by the Highway Department and Highway Commissioner.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and provide leadership for a work crew of laborers and equipment operators in road construction, repair, and maintenance.
• Coordinate the use of equipment and materials for road projects.
• Inspect roads, culverts, ditches, right of ways, markings and signs for maintenance needs.
• Coordinate and oversee traffic control, worksite safety and proper equipment usage.
• Maintain records of equipment hours, employee time and materials; report to the Highway Operations Manager.
• Review and evaluate performance; participate in discipline processes as needed.
• Respond to winter on-call rotation (one week every four weeks).
• Operate road maintenance equipment as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
