The position offers a variable schedule with overtime and a pay rate starting at $31.00 per hour DOE. Work at ground level to heights up to 100 feet, coordinating with inspectors and other crews.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of roadway, earthmoving, and crew-supervision experience.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and communicate with crews and inspectors.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a crew of six to twelve workers and report to the superintendent.
• Plan and direct the crew’s daily work in accordance with plans and quality standards.
• Operate earth-moving equipment and demonstrate knowledge of crew tools.
• Read plans, grades, stakes, cut/fill requirements, and blue tops for earthwork.
• Train workers in safe performance, conduct toolbox safety meetings, and set a safe example.
• Ensure the crew has materials, tools, and equipment needed.
• Maintain and report worker time and daily work quality.
• Coordinate with the superintendent, foremen, inspectors, survey crews, and the public.
• Coordinate with mechanics, servicers, welders, and truck drivers as needed.
• Assist the superintendent with staffing decisions.
• Be responsible for quality, productivity, safety, and equipment care.
• Work at ground level, in excavations, and up to 100 feet heights.
• Assist workers, including lifting and carrying materials and tools.
• Perform work near public highways with caution to protect workers and the public.
• Drive a pickup safely and handle basic vehicle maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
