Job summary

STV Incorporated in South Carolina is seeking a Roadway Engineering Specialist to support transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and SCDOT.

The role involves schematic/functional designs, roadway geometry, drainage, and signing, with collaboration across client teams and marketing. Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and ORD is preferred; AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus. Growth opportunities are emphasized.

Qualifications

Job description

STV has an immediate need in our South Carolina offices for a Roadway Engineering Specialist in our Transportation division.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies, local governments, and SCDOT.
• Provide schematic/functional designs, roadway geometry, roadway details, drainage, work zone traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure.
• Assist with Utility Coordination on an as‑needed basis on small and mid‑sized projects.
• Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams.
• Design experience using MicroStation, Geopak, and Open Roads (ORD) is preferred. Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus.
• Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
• Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Work with practice and office leadership, client development, business development and industry participation to advance your career and STV’s growth.
• Attend productive project meetings both within STV and with clients.
• Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and client project managers

Qualifications

• Minimum of 0-4 years of experience in technical aspects of roadway design
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required. New graduates and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.
• EIT is preferred
• Experience or prior internships in design of intersections, roundabouts, interchanges, widenings, or bike/ped facilities.
• Experience with using Microstation, Geopak, and Open Roads Designer is preferred.
• Strong inter‑personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
• Drainage, erosion control, and utility coordination experience is a plus

Compensation Range: $64,848.58 - $74,112.66
