STV Incorporated is seeking a Roadway Engineering Specialist to join the Transportation group in Pennsylvania. You can be based in Douglassville, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia and will work on road, highway, and transit projects.

The role emphasizes OpenRoads/MicroStation proficiency, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and delivering high-quality designs within budgets and schedules.

STV currently has openings for a Roadway Engineering Specialists to join our Transportation group in Pennsylvania. *****No sponsorships are available for these positions***** STV is seeking an experienced and motivated Roadway Engineering Specialist to join our Pennsylvania team. You can be based in Douglassville, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in MicroStation Inroads software, with Bentley's OpenRoads experience as a valuable asset. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of roadway, highway, and transit projects, contributing to innovative design solutions that meet the highest quality standards, budget constraints, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers in highway geometry and the effective use of Modeling software offering guidance and support to build their technical skills.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including engineers, surveyors, planners, and project managers, to integrate design elements into comprehensive project plans.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and technical specifications for roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct thorough design reviews, constructability assessments, and quality control checks to ensure designs align with project objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project reports, presentations, and client communications to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to OpenRoads, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master's Degree in Civil Engineering is a plus
  • Successful completion of the FE exam
  • Strong proficiency in MicroStation Inroads with Bentley's OpenRoads Designer being a plus
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a strong focus on roadway design, alignment optimization, and geometric design.
  • Experience with signing, pavement marking and traffic control plan development
  • Traffic signal and ITS design experience is a plus
  • Stormwater management and Erosion and Sedimentation Control design and permitting is a plus
  • Familiarity with design standards and guidelines, including PennDOT, AASHTO, and FHWA.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional society membership and involvement is a plus.
Compensation Range:

$83,978.91 - $95,975.90
