Job summary

STV Incorporated in Acworth, GA is seeking a Roadway Engineering Specialist to design roadways and highways, preparing plans, specs, estimates, and reports for public agencies while coordinating with the design team.

The ideal candidate has a BS/MS in Civil Engineering, 2+ years in roadway design using Bentley tools (MicroStation, InRoads, GeoPak/OpenRoads experience a plus), and strong interpersonal skills. This is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway/highway design using OpenRoads or InRoads and conform to standards.
• Develop design plans including geometry, alignments and details.
• Coordinate with design team and other disciplines on deliverables.
• Assist in development of cost estimates, specifications and reports.
• Collaborate with client management teams and multidisciplinary engineers.
• Provide technical expertise in roadway/highway design, alignments, earthwork, signage, and cost estimates.

Job description

STV currently has an opportunity in our Acworth, Georgia office for a Roadway Engineering Specialist in our Transportation division. As a Roadway Engineering Specialist, you will have the opportunity to design Roadways and Highways for the communities we serve. The ability to perform independent design, documentation of plans, specifications, estimates, studies, and reports for road/highway projects including but not limited to design projects for public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Performing Roadway Design using OpenRoads or InRoads and familiar with the local, state and national roadway design standards
• Developing design plans including geometry, alignments, and details.
• Coordinating with design team and other disciplines on design and deliverables.
• Assisting in development of cost estimates, specifications, and reports.
• Interact and partner with client management teams and a team of multidisciplinary engineers
• Ability to provide technical expertise in the following areas:
  • Roadway/highway design
  • Vertical and horizontal alignments
  • Typical and cross sections
  • Earthwork
  • Signage and pavement markings
  • Quantities and cost estimates
  • Design reports

Required Skills & Experience

• BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering / EIT Certification is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in in Roadway Design using Bentley MicroStation, GeoPak or InRoads – OpenRoads experience is a ++
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Compensation Range: $72,053.98 - $82,347.40
