Job summary

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Roadway Engineering Intern to join our team in Chicago. You will help prepare construction documents, assist with highway design, and support project delivery through quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and field surveys.

Collaborate with engineers and CAD drafters, utilizing CAD/CAE tools to develop project designs. This role emphasizes learning, teamwork, and strong organizational skills with room for growth.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist with geometric design of highways and roadways, including alignments, cross sections, superelevation diagrams, gore details, vertical clearance calculations, and grading plans.
• Perform material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and field surveys as required.
• Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to develop and implement project designs.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD drafters, designers, and other engineers on the project team.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support project delivery.
