Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer to join our team. The candidate will contribute to planning and design of transportation projects, develop roadway plans, profiles, and traffic control elements, and prepare technical reports.

Ideal applicants hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 5–10 years in roadway engineering, and a North Carolina PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–10 years of roadway engineering experience (higher experience considered).
• North Carolina PE license preferred.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design transportation projects with a team of engineers.
• Design horizontal and vertical alignments and roadway plans.
• Develop profiles, roadside elements, and traffic control concepts.

We are currently seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer to join our team in our Raleigh, NC office.

Responsibilities

The Roadway Engineer will work with a team of engineers on the planning and design of transportation projects in ND. This position will be responsible for the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, development of roadway plans and profiles, roadside evaluation elements, maintenance of traffic design, preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and the development of technical reports.

Types of projects will include:

• Intersection and interchange designs
• New roadway alignments
• Roadway widenings, roundabouts, interstates and pedestrian bicycle facilities

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 5-10 years of experience in roadway engineering (candidates with significant relevant experience but fewer years will also be considered)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina preferred
• Proficiency with design software including MicroStation, OpenRoads
• Strong oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi-office teams
• Ability to lead and manage multiple projects, assignments, and teams
• Positive, cooperative attitude as both a team leader and team player
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
