Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Roadway EIT/Designer in Jackson, TN to contribute to urban and rural highway projects under a Project Manager. The role develops roadway designs and prepares detailed plans, while guiding CAD Designers.

Collaboration with Right of Way and preconstruction staff is expected throughout feasibility to construction. Qualifications include an EIT or ability to obtain, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and familiarity with Highways, Open Roads Designer, Bentley ConceptStation, and Open

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other roadway design professionals.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects.
  • Collaborate with Right of Way and preconstruction staff.
  • Participate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase.
  • Work with client facilities and under direction of Client staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Responsibilities
  • In the role of Roadway EIT/Designer, we\'ll count on you to:
  • Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway/right of way projects.
  • Develop roadway designs and plans in accordance with guidelines, standards, and specifications under the direction of a Project Engineer.
  • Oversee the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other roadway design professionals.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects.
  • Collaborate with Right of Way and preconstruction staff.
  • Participate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase.
  • Work with client facilities and under direction of Client staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain. Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering; familiarity with Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer required. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
