Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the United States is searching for an Engineering role focused on highway and roadway projects. Responsibilities include developing engineering designs, overseeing CAD work, and collaborating with preconstruction staff. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and has experience with TDOT, MicroStation, and AutoCAD. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • Experience with Highways and Roads engineering software is preferred.
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager.
  • Support roadway designs and plan development.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects.
  • Assume some project management duties and interact with clients.

Skills

Reading and interpreting roadway plans
Experience working with TDOT
Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD
Experience with Bentley ConceptStation
Experience with Autodesk Infraworks
Experience with Civil3D

Education

Responsibilities
  • Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway/right of way projects
  • Support roadway designs and plan development in accordance to guidelines, standards, and specifications
  • Oversee the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other EITs
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects
  • Collaborate with Right of Way and preconstruction staff
  • Participate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase
  • Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Reading and interpreting roadway and Right Of Way plans
  • Experience working with TDOT
  • Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
